Moment #4

This is my hostel known as Kolej Ibrahim Yaakob. It is located on the hilly side thus earning the name of Highlanders. Ibrahim Yaacob is one of the Malaysian legends and is widely known among the people.

 

As Kolej Ibrahim Yaacob (KIY) is located on the hills, that would equalize to walking up the hill everyday. Maybe once, or even twice or day. Better still if it's more ^^

 

There was a moment when we (few of my hostel friends) were located on a further and upper part of the hilly side. It was among the tragiest moment here (lolz). Just imagine, you were out for the whole day and at the end of the day, you just wish for your comfy bed and a glass of iced water. To achieve that, you need (and must) walk up the hill for around 7 minutes (on a slower pace, it takes 10 minutes) to reach there.

 

Phew.

The agony.

 

We were vey tempted to change hostel.

 

"Is there any available room in Ungku Omar?"

 

Maaf dik. Dah penuh dah semua bilik. Kenapa ya adik nak pindah ke UO?

Penat lah kak kena daki bukit KIY setiap hari.

Takpe dik. Nanti satu hari adik boleh cerita dengan cucu-cucu adik.

 

What an answer.

We have to stay for the sake of our future generation.

 

More agony.

More sakit hati.

 

But in the end, we still ended up in this hostel. And alhamdulillah, still surviving. May Allah grant us easeness and quwwah to continue our preseverance in walking up the hills everyday.

 

#Playing on my mind now is the tradisional song of, Jack and Jill went up the hill to fetch a pail of water. Jack fell down and broke his head and Jane came tumbling down after.

 

Agak-agak kalau kita golek-golek turun bawah bukit kiy, pecah tak eh kepala? ^^
