Moment #19

There will always be a FIRST time. So is the case (for me) of renting and driving a car in Malaysia. Who would ever thought that I would have the gut to do it. But I did it (biiznillah ta'ala) ^^ The impossibility lies because firstly, I'm not at all familiar with the roads here. Secondly, the road surface conditions here sometimes are in very bad condition. Thirdly, I'm unsure about the car maintenance - the brake functioning well? steering wheel too hard? tyres worn out? Fourthly, I actually doubt that my mak permits me to drive here alone (as in my ayah not beside me).

Truthfully, I'm a teeny weeny bit scared to drive here. But to certain circumstances, I just need to rent a car and drive (if no one else can) to move around places that are not accesible to public transportation. My biggest fear is "...if I hit other's car...if the car suddenly broke down...if something (i don't know...just something) happens to the car....". I would be left stranded hopelessly. I need to fork out money to pay back for the damages. No car insurance.

But alhamdulillah. So far so good :)

My point here is that sometimes we need to overcome our fear and get rid out of it. We don't know what lies beyond that. A better us insha allah...? :) The first step is always the hardest but with trust in our own self and Allah of course, insha allah we can!

As Nike said, just do it! ^^

Yeah. Never forget to read doa upon driving.

سبحان الذي سخرلنا هذا وما كنا له مقرنين وانا الى ربنا لمنقلبون
Glory is to Him who has provided this for us though we could never have
it by our own efforts. Surely unto Lord we are returning.
