Moment #15

Moment #15 is about RO (reverse osmosis) water. This is an absolutely new thing for me. It's a refill water machine which you can refill your bottles with this kind of RO water. You just need to pop in a few coins (it's kinda cheap) and you can get a 5 litre drink of water.

RO water is very practical in hostels. Students who are on tight budget will prefer this kind of refill machine instead of buying bottles of mineral water. There's so many terms of water; distilled water, mineral water, pure water, reverse osmosis water and etc. You can google it for more details.

The first time I reached here, ayah bought for me a box of water which contained 16 bottles of drinking water. Ayah said, ida jangan minum air paip. Minum air botol nie. So I drinked from the bought bottles. I even boiled water using the bottled water. As time goes on, the quantity of bottle lessen till I was left with no more bottled water.

In desperate need of water, I used tap water and boiled it. After cooling it, I drink from it. I filled my bottles with boiled tap water. And it goes on until I reached a point when I realised that the tap water sometimes looked very yellowish. Urgh. I stopped doing it.

I started buying drinking water again. This time from a nearby shop which costs me RM5 for 3 bottles. At times, I saw few of my friends bringing empy bottles and refilling in with RO water but it never hit me to do the same.

Just this lately that I start refilling my empty bottles with RO water. To me, all water taste the same (my mother won't say that of course) but there are few kinds of bottled water that if you drink, your throat somehow hurts, or feel itchy.

And so far, alhamdulillah RO water is cheap (it's quite budget) and it's not the type that makes throat itchy. I would daresay, it's safe to drink RO water...? Hehe.

الحمد لله الذي جعل الماء عذبا فراتا برحمتك ولا تجعله ملحا أجاجا بذنوبنا
All praises be to Allah who of his mercy has make this water a cooling and
pleasant drink and did not make it bitter and salty due to our sins.
