So what's next?

Recently I attended a mini talk on career. I came with a swarming mind full of questions. I admitted lately I feel so lost – as though I’m walking aimlessly in a jungle. There’s a million question marks that need to be sorted out and alhamdulillah, I found a few answer in this talk. As much as it does benefit me, hopefully it benefits you too.
Some point sharing from Ustaz Misi Wahid – the CEO of Safinah .

He started his slot with an introduction from us (heeh. My least favourite) followed by a sharing of how he started his journey. As he goes on telling about himself and how he grows up, I found myself in him. I see myself much in him till the point that he change for a better him. (I’m still looking for the better me, heeeh)

An introvert, an academically bright student, not much of a front-line student, not the leadership-type fellow and a very obedient and dutiful student (hehe). As Ustaz Mizi goes on, I feel more intrigued on how he transformed himself into a successful entrepreneur and a muslim icon for most (i believe). =)

One important point is that he identifies his weakness and work on it. As an introvert, public speaking is a nightmare. You get the chills of even thinking about it. But what did he do? He spent his free time in a library and pondered books on public speaking – how to deliver messages effectively – and motivational books. From there, he picked up tips and believed in himself. He grew up.

I believe that’s the starting point. Having confidence in you is really a booster. Anything else won’t matter then. If you don't see the confidence in yourselves, don't expect people to spot it themselves.
As a graduate, there’s a few things that need to be keep in mind. Firstly, with the knowledge that you have gained throughout the journey, you need to share it with others. Knowledge is never meant to be kept. Sharing can come in various ways – through talks, discussion, blogging, FB post or tweets – whatever medium that you are comfortable with. Be attentive on the in-thing medium of sharing knowledge. As for now, the in-thing is seeking knowledge online. Local scholars are not been prominent online thus missing on a good deal of dakwah chances. Make viral reliable content and insha allah people will be interested to know more about Islam.

Always keep a mental check on how we as individual can contribute back to our society. Everyone has their own forte, their own passion and interest. Use it well for Islam and may we be among the people of khairukum anfa'akum linnas (the best of you is the most benefits to people).
Another point is to always give yourself a pat when you know you did well. Everyone should have their share of praises as this serve as a motivation for us. Only you can gauge how far you have grown up, or how far you have achieved. Go on! Give yourself a pat~ You deserve it J

Earning your own money is another step to grow up. You will appreciate the hard-earned money. Money never comes easily thus you will value it more. Another point is to identify your strength. As much as there is weakness, there is strength in you that only you can identify it. With your strength, polish on it and ensure that it is this fact that makes you different from others.

As for teaching, Ustaz did mentioned not to use too much terminologies when dealing with people. Use it in an easier terms so that people from different levels can understand it.

Last, he mentioned 3 things – be mentally driven, emotionally strong and spiritually grounded. Insha allah we will succeed.

Jazakumullahu khairal jaza. May Safinah continue to prosper, and may Allah bless each and everyone of us.

p/s: There's actually more but hopefully, this points will suffice insha allah (for now).
